knob

read through the posts for gear knob,, nothing i could find about removing the gear knob from the gear lever shaft on a 220ce,, does it just screw off the shaft or will i just have to hack away at the knob till i'm just left with the shaft,,??,, here's the one i want to use,,

Does someone have some nice suggestion to change it on a manual W202? Factory leather one seems me "small" to keep in myhand and I'd like as much as possible a factory look. Any suggestion from other series? Leather and/or wood. ...as idea...

Went to the stealers for a replacement volume control knob on my Audio 10 unit as mine is now looking really worse for wear... Was told by the chap that they don't come on their own so I'll just have to live with it ?? Has anyone else tried to get a similar part or may have a part number ??

how do you remove the gear knob on a W202 with an autobox? :confused: Does the whole thing twist off or do you have to remove the collar at the bottom of the knob first? I didn't want to force anything in case it broke. ta

I have a '96 C220 (W202) and i want to know how to remove the shift knob. Apparently on older merc models the knob is attached to the shaft and removing the knob will result in having to remove the shaft. I was wondering if this is true about the 220. If not, how would i go about taking off...
