Sorry folks, really noob question, but searches don't seem to find me the answer. Simply, what is the correct coolant level in the expansion tank of a W203. I have it filled around 2/3 or so, about 1" above the internal baffle plates. Surely to the "black line" for the lid is too high? Opinions?

I keep getting the 'Top up coolant' message come up, usually when first starting from cold. Obviously I have checked the coolant level and it is full up. Question - could it be just a fault sensor, or could there be something more sinister? Thanks for any advice... Tim

hi there, hope someone can help.... the coolant warning light has come on and the car has lost power (i assume this is limp mode), the coolant level is fine - any ideas what it could be? Here's hoping for a simple DIY fix :( cheers john
