Sorry folks, really noob question, but searches don't seem to find me the answer. Simply, what is the correct coolant level in the expansion tank of a W203. I have it filled around 2/3 or so, about 1" above the internal baffle plates. Surely to the "black line" for the lid is too high?
Opinions?
I keep getting the 'Top up coolant' message come up, usually when first starting from cold. Obviously I have checked the coolant level and it is full up.
Question - could it be just a fault sensor, or could there be something more sinister?
Thanks for any advice...
Tim
hi there, hope someone can help....
the coolant warning light has come on and the car has lost power (i assume this is limp mode), the coolant level is fine - any ideas what it could be?
Here's hoping for a simple DIY fix :(

I have read quite a few posts regarding electronic engine oil level measurement, call me an old cynic but I would much prefer to see an oil dipstick. A few posts suggest where to buy them, unfortunately after extensive searches (must admit I haven't called into the MB dealer yet), I can't find...

Dozens of motorists were left stranded at the roadside after a tanker driver’s blunder meant they filled up their cars with the wrong fuel.
The driver accidentally put diesel into the petrol storage tank at a Sainsbury’s petrol station forecourt – causing around £14,000 damage.

I have an odd problem with my 211. When the aircon is running and blowing cold air in, the middle vents blow cold, the passenger side blows cold, but the driver side blows warm.
2005 model, so no middle vent temp control.
Have I got a distribution flap/motor problem? Or something else? If...
Hi,
I turned left sharply earlier today and hear a loud clunk. There were no feelings of instability afterwards and no loud noises.
However this evening the Xenon lights did not level when I switched them on and remained on a 'short' beam.
Any ideas
You aren't going to believe the stupidity of this question..
I have a 2011 c180 diesel. I want to check the oil level. There is a red handled dipstick near the bulkhead in the engine bay but I cannot remove it. I also don't see any menu item which has an oil sensor level.
Am I stupid or about to...
I popped into the local dealership this afternoon to enquire about a new C350 CDI and was told by the salesman that the spec levels are changing for June production.
I was wondering if anyone else was thinking of getting a new C Class and if so are they aware of this change.
Having just read the threads on all that can be enabled by the comandonline guys, who know the Star system inside out, my question is ..........

Hi,
I just bought a 1999(R) C240 Elegance Auto. When driving at circa 70mph on a motorway the engine oil light came on with the word "HIGH" and several beeps.
I then slowed down and it disappeared. It does not happen at lower speeds.

I 've just got a 2000 CLK 320 and after changing the oil it keeps bringing the high oil level warning on. The level is ok, 2/3 between low/high on the dipstick but when I check it on the dash it either can't do it or says too high, then when I drive 10mins the warning comes on. Regular fault...
