On my previous W164 ML320 Sport the instrument cluster was lit even when the exterior lights were off but in my W166 ML350 Sport the cluster lights are off unless the exterior lights are on. Is this normal behaviour? I would like to have the cluster lit all the time but can not find a setting...

As above the bulb on the lighting switch bottom right on dashboard does not illuminate anymore. Popped in to main dealer yesterday and chatted to parts dept. No replacement bulb shown on system and replacemnt unit is circa £300:eek: Any sensible suggestions for a fix?:doh:
