hi,
I've just taken ownership of a 1995 e320 estate, a high spec, 165k, 1 owner car from new. I knew it needed a bit of a mechanical overhaul, and after a good drive I've got the following list:
springs
dampers
arb's
top mounts
engine mounts
sls shperes
propshaft donut
diff mounts...
Picked up the car today (a 95 E300d multivalve) really pleased with it on the way home, but a few hours later and I've been greeted with a handful of little old used car gremlins I think....
Inside the car (atop the dash speaker covers) are 2 alarm sensors. they are very period looking and...
Mine is on ebay now with 1 year's MOT, and a recommendation on the other side from Silverstar129, from a previous owner, who must have recognised the part reg no in the pix !
Item number:190850614807
Still a few days off from collecting my 300D that I've bought.
I've been wondering about the maximum boot size of it, in particular I often carry a few sheets of plasterboard. (180cmx90cm). If it's a few then a slight angle will be okay but anything more than that and I'll want to lay them...
I thought it would be nice to share the build pics of my blue estate, and a nice introduction into my E7 venture.
It started life as a 300-24TE which ended up in a pretty sorry state just begging to be revived...It had a bigger purpose in life...
I would like to obtain a pair of original roll up sun blinds for the rear door windows of a S124 together with the necessary fixing kit. Even one would do. Thanks in advance.
Just back from a holiday in Germany. Staying with friends who are also enthusiasts. They gave me use of their cars while I was there. Beats Avis and Europcar any day!
So my big plans for my car are over! Failed its MOT
Car is with Andy at wright tech in sidcup, car has corrosion in subframe and requires welding, give him a call on 0208 8308 9175 he has the MOT and list of failures, would rather sell it as whole car rather than break but will break if need...
I'm trying to remove the piece of carpeted trim in the cargo area on the drivers side that hinges down to reveal the tool kit storage and rear washer bottle.
There appears to be 3 screws holding it in place that form the hinge part of the trim, but having removed them, the damn thing still...
Which are best springs to drop an s124?
H&R? Euro performance seem to list a few different ones, don't want a massive drop and would like to keep the ride reasonably smooth.
I'm sure anyone interested in a w124 estate would check Nick's site as a matter of course, but I thought this particular car warranted posting. I'm normally not a fan of the cloth seats in the w124 but the black sports check in this one looks stunning. Bornite also looks amazing on this car...
Before Christmas an intermittent whine started at rear of the car. Reaching under the offside rear wheel I could tap the rear fuel pump and the sound would respond accordingly. The weather being atrocious put me off fixing things immediately. The whine got worse and eventually the engine had...
Hi folks
Has anyone bought a new key fob for a Scorpion alarm lately and have a contact?
There is K370** inside the remote.
There seems to be a crowd on line but you need to telephone them, just wanted to order on-line now, I will never remember when the lines open again tomorrow...
Hi, Your thoughts on an explanation for this:-
Stopped off a Wickes but when I returned to the car it started and ran but then cut out almost immediately. RAC diagnosed as 'no spark' probably due to failed coil. Car recovered to my usual Merc specialist.
They have replaced the coil...
Just got the 124 back after having a little corrosion dealt with around the tailgate window. Paint finish is superb and it has a brand new rear screen at no cost to me as they broke the old one removing it. However the central locking sensor on the tailgate no longer works. They say they did not...
Hi there
Some of u may know my car is going for a re spray early in the new year and i want to replace the window seals on these windows
I thought i saw something on here about these windows and seals etc. I think Jay said that the body coloured trims on these windows was tricky to put back...
