Hi Guys,
I'm doing a front end rebuild ie bushings and other bits and pieces on my w124 e200 each side. The springs needed replacing so I ordered new ones however I discovered that you cannot use normal compressors on them and I need a spring compressor like this:
I thought its worth asking...
Hi
I have 2 W124 estates.
One of them is sitting much lower one side than the other. I've looked under there and no sign of a damaged spring or anything - so I presume its just "sagging".
So, i want to change the springs both sides at the front. The car already has new springs on...
Anyone got an idea of how much a front spring would be from a main dealer for a 2006 clk 220 sport? And if there would be much difference using an after market one?
Cheers in advance
Found a broken road spring on the front of the car today and wanted to get it sorted straight away.
Not having an internal spring compressor I asked an indie how much as a labour job, then asked the dealer when collecting the spring, expecting both to say...well it's a 15 minute job, so price...
Hey all having a wonderful time trying to squeeze the new springs on, can someone point me in the right direction where to get a set of spring compressors that will work.
I am in Woking Surrey, I popped into Mclaren but they said my car was above their skill set
I have a road spring compressor set for sale with both the large and small spring plates, used twice like new fits most models. Cost me £175, will take £75.

Just got my car back after a rear end shunt and can anyone tell me please if the rear boot springs should have a top cover over the springs. I don't remember being able to see the springs but I'm not sure, they are covered underneath, I just feel there is a top cap missing but I may be wrong

I have a front coil spring problem on a 1991 w124 260E.
The spring has broken at the lower end and I found a broken off segment containing two coils on the ground. The spring is now at an angle and poking into the inside rim of the wheel (see pics). The top section of the tyre has disappeared...
Does anyone have the small circular pre-tentioner spring and the small round plastic ring for the base of the seat belt bracket where it is bolted to the sill?
It seems in the past someone in frustration must have thrown them away when trying to put the seat belt back on.
So yesterday was lovely, and seemed like time to get the hard top off. Always a nervous moment, but the soft top came out of hibernation without hesitation. Bless.
I decided to reward it with a three-stage Renovo treatment. It seems to work, as water now beads on the hood.
While poking...

Weekend again, raining and windy, not cruising weather with the top down, how much longer do we have to wait.Half way through March now and the year is slipping away.I think o:wallbash:ur weather is getting worse,so many extremes now.
We returned from a week on holiday yesterday to find the E class looking somewhat lopsided at the front nearside corner.
Whilst seemingly very common on a Merc however for an '07 car to need springs for the second time in its short life already (last replaced in April '10 so no warranty to...
