hello, planning on changing out some front suspension components on the cls, but am hunting for the various torque wrench values for the reassembly.. I understand there are no Haynes manuals available....
Changed the front discs on car...( relatively easy once I'd watched the nut and bolt trick to remove the discs) then torqued wheel nuts back on with wheels attached obviously.
My question is, how do I know my torque wrench is accurate - I haven't used it for a few years so it could be well...
What is the size required, I have read 74mm, 74.5mm, 76mm, at least they all state 14 flutes.
I measured the one on the car although there is not a lot of room without taking it off - looks like 74.5 - ish !
Thanks
Have been looking for decent but not too expensive impact wrench. I do like the Snap On CTU-6850 but a bit rich for me new, just missed one on ebay but new seller with no feedback so probably a good thing.
Anyone have one for sale or recommend a decent cordless one?
Hi Guys,
I'm about to change an oil in my Mercedes and I can see that the access to oil filter cup is quite difficult. It will be nice to use a proper oil wrench (I believe it is 74mm/14 flutes for a M104 engine). Of course there is plenty of them on eBay but if anyone has got one around...
Are there SOS and wrench buttons relating to MBrace within the cls?.
Taking a closer inspection of my new car, I found a warning triangle tightly packed into a red nugget bar type enclosure and there was an SOS phone symbol on it too.
As above, i believe the same size used across many different models. I do aware of the original OEM wrench part number, but not the price i wanna pay.
SO far I found many sizes on the web which all abot confusing. 74mm 74.4mm 74.5 and 75mm X14 flutes. Aftermarket i can find 74 , 74.5 to 76mm...
Hi,
New here and to MB (a 2013 C250 CDI Sport+ Estate) - but can anyone confirm the filter wrench size please? Its 14 flats and I roughly measure about 73mm.
Only ones I can find are 76mm?
Thanks
Andy
so my local chandler has one of those vacuum devices to suck oil out of the dipstick tube.
I also note that they have a rubber strap wrench, this looks a bit kinder to the plastic filter canister than a chain wrench, has anyone used one of these?
any thoughts?
I've just changed the thermostat on my W203 C270 and to make things a tad easier removed the oil filter which sits right in front of the stat. Not the easiest to remove with big hands, without a tool, but I managed it.
So can anyone advise which tool is needed and a supplier, I've looked...
I've never owned a torque wrench, time for me to buy one. Mainly for use on wheel nuts and maintenance on the MX5.
What forces do I need to cover for general car work?
What can the collective recommend please?
I'm after a new torque wrench 20-200nm.
A digital one would be nice but is not absolutely essential.
I wouldn't use it that often, just to make sure I don't over-tighten things such as oil filter covers, wheel bolts etc.
Anyone use/know of a decent tool at a reasonable cost?
TIA.
Paul.
Folks
My E55 seems to have a very fine leak from the Oil filter housing cap. I had mobile 0/40 put in a few weeks ago so i suspect that it could be the viscosity being too thin that's the problem. Im changing to a 10/40 but wanted to know whether using a torque wrench to tighten the housing...
I'm looking for a decent torque wrench - mainly for wheel nuts to clean the alloys properly every month - any recommendations up to £50? Also a decent tyre pressure gauge.
