A neighbour of mine has just bought an early 2002 S Class cdi with Command issues... The radio, changer works fine but when you put the Nav Cd in the drive it comes up with this message

"Cd not available please insert navi cd dx cd"

Any ideas? Is there any reset that can be done or us the command unit stuffed?

Cheers

Try a cd lens cleaner. Check the nav disc is the correct type i.e. Tele Atlas DX disc. If it still doesnt work there are companies that repair these uints like CAT - Car Audio Technics in Essex.

Alfie / Richard from Comand.co.uk should also be able to repair it.

Nope.... Not in the single slot anyway... Any cd it just spits out....

I knew a girl like that once...

Sounds like it is crackered if it will not accept any discs. As said above you could try one of these CD cleaning discs, but I may spit that out. Or I guess pull the fuse and see if it wants to re-set itself.

I normally take the top off and clean the laser with a cotton bud and lighter fluid... Its almost always the problem.

Cleaning discs never work.
