Hi,

Newbie here so please excuse :)

I have just picked up a 2003 E class with the audio 50 APS fitted but it only has version 2.1 of the satnav CDs with it.

Does anyone know what the latest version is for this, what extra functionality it gives (postcode search etc) and where I can get hold of it. I have searched the UK sites for the discs (as I don't want to go down to the local stealer and get ripped off) but have found nothing.

Any info would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks guys

Comand navigation

My car was built 2003.
MB Made 2 versions of the navigation system the better version had the large screen.......Which I have the large screen.
The navigation disk on mine is a DVD ...NOT cd and the casset that you load the DVD into is in the boot of the car.

Versions prior to version 5.0 did not have the TMC enabled (traffic management control) this will automaticaly re-route you if there a major problem or accident on route.
The latest version is V 5.1
You may have to flash the firmware of the NAV system for version 5 to work ..(mine worked fine without)should only take 15 minutes for MB to do this on there computer.
You are welcome to try the DVD on your car and may be have a beer.

APS 50 is not COMAND - I had it in a W211, but I got rid of that so am not sure what the latest version is. The CD's are cheap on Ebay (search for items in the EU as most come from Germany) & be careful as there are two different types of CD's for different vehicles and they are not interchangeable - look for

E-Klasse (>03/2002)
SLK-Klasse (>03/2004)
CLS-Klasse

Here is an example of v4.1 discs (which may be the latest)
