I saw a nice second hand c180 BlueEFFICIENCY auto estate in the garage and I was wondering if they where any good. I think the car is really a 1.6 turbo ( but could be wrong) and as my wife only does 12K a year and alot of it's around town I thought it might be the better option. Are there any problems with the engine and what sort of mpg do people get out of them????

So far as I'm aware the C180 BlueEFFICIENCY is a 1.8 turbo. One of my good friends has one and is quite happy with it. He gets just shy of 40 to the gallon, but he drives like an old lady so I wouldn't take that as gospel. :thumb:

IIRC, the manual is a 1.6 but the auto is a 1.8 (Mine is certainly a 1.8)

On stop/start town journeys and short runs on country lanes I get about 33-35 mpg. Gentle motorway use on a long run gives me 39-41 mpg but a heavy right foot brings it back down.

Either way it's better than the 18-20 mpg I get from the ML350.

I had a "59" C180K sport Estate Auto, it was a 1.6 Kompressor.

It averaged 30mpg almost all the time.

The best I had was driving from Surrey to Glasgow and got into the low/mid 40's.

It actually made a good traffic/city but it lacked midrange push.

Mine is a 180 auto petrol blue efficiency, i think the petrol are supercharged and diesel are turbo charged thats what i was told correct me if i am wrong please

Mine is a 1.8 litre the blue efficiency like it or not gives me about 35-39 on general driving and about 42-45 on long motorway journeys thats with a light right foot those figures will come down with a heavy right foot :thumb:
