well one week into owning my 2001 clk 320 cab, here are my thoughts:
1. what a phenomenal car for the money, near mint, full service history, all the toys and runs like a charm
2. the faults it has are annoying not life threatening (dead pixels in the clock, exhaust clamp needed tightening)
3. contrary to my last experience, everything is relatively easy to do (at least in terms of electrics etc...much more was standard in 2001 it seems that in 2007)
4. the people on this forum are helpful and have answered my dumb questions without too much kicking.
i moved from big power ricerocket (i still have an R35 GTR as my weekend car) and while the merc doesn't have that "goes like a cheetah thats had its nads dipped in a vat of burning oil" feeling, it definitely has oodles of oomphy torque and a real feeling of progression down the road.
all in all, at less than the last set of tyres i bought for the skyline, what a brilliant brilliant car.
can't wait to get home, hope its as sunny in the UK as it is in the netherlands, as it'll be roof down back from heathrow
