I'm new to this but have read other posts on this subject. I have a '94 280te compact with Diavia a/c. Does anybody know how to get the blower box off?

Why do you want to take the blower box off?

If you remove all the trim under the windscreen, the jump wiper and the blower box lid you can then get at the blower motor

I believe if it has aftermarket a/c as you say, then from previous experience, the whole heater box has to come out to get to the fan. When Aftermarket a/c kits were fitted, they junked the original heater motor and fitted a new heater box complete with fan. If your lucky it will be as above but I've not seen an aftermarket kit with the motor accessible from under screen as it should be.

that is correct, you will have to access it from inside a car.... you do know what that means??

I'd have a look in the usual location before getting too excited

thanks for your replies. It seems that it does have to be accessed from inside the car which is a pain so that probably won't happen and I will cut and shut the box from under the bonnet so I can at least lubricate the motor a bit. Is this idea crazy?
