My 1.8 is never used for short trips & is in tip top fettle if i use it for work a round trip of 55 miles i get 36 mpg, when i bought it almost 3 years ago ( it came with full MB history) i had to collect it from Edinburgh as i did not have it inspected i drove it back not exceeding 60 mph, it managed 44mpg, i think that is marvellous consumption for a1993 vehicle.
