Update/ issue resolved!! for Poor MPG
To be fair to me, there were no symptoms of the cause whilst driving the car when i started the thread...but the issue was...piston in rear calliper sticking, causing brakes to be lightly on.
It came apparent when the brakes wore out. So a new set of EBC ordered from ebay, and the my local garage serviced the calliper...all good, now enjoying some what more spritely performance!!
So I use the E5 petrol 97 ron.
So prior to piston/ calliper issue mpg = 18.
After repair 29.5, which on a long run (no stop start traffic) must be about right for an old w124 E280 with 150k on the clock, certainly on par with my E320..
One thing I was looking into (prior to the repair) was having the injectors serviced at £30 each, but with mpg at 29.5 might not bother and just run redex/ injector cleaner through.
Anybody had their injectors tested/ serviced, is it worth doing? is there a cheap source of new injectors out there? MB want £200 each
Cheers
