They’d know you have one in the car if they have an iPhone - they’d get a notification saying they are being followed by an air-tag…Has anyone considered hiding an Apple Airtag somewhere in the boot? At least you'll know where the car is, and the Airtag can't be disconnected or deactivated by the thieves.
I’m baffled why they’d call at such hours - seems incredibly unprofessional. How did the tech know the customer’s phone number at 2300 at night when the dealership is presumably closed?
That’s the point that way it should be a deterrent. They’d know you have one in the car if they have an iPhone - they’d get a notification saying they are being followed by an air-tag…

Theres an option to ‘play a sound’ to find the tag - so you’d need to disconnect the speaker if you want to use it in this way. That’s the point that way it should be a deterrent.
Mine and my friends guess is they repaired the car and he drove it home instead of using one of their own cars.. parked up blocking his driveway and his parents needed to go work and that’s when he called my mate because he couldn’t start the car (he drove it longer than 15 mins so ghost went back into normal mode) he was literally begging my friend not to get the manager involved but my mate stood his ground.I’m baffled why they’d call at such hours - seems incredibly unprofessional.
Ye he obviously took the car home to show it off it is a really well spec’d M5 CompPossibly on the job sheet that had been left in the vehicle ?
Sounds like someone fancied an extended road test and took the car home to "diagnose" the fault.

Exactly. The usual story of driving a client's car home, and possibly to the pub. Then he tries to move it again and can't. Needs to be resolved that evening rather than at 7am the following morning.Mine and my friends guess is they repaired the car and he drove it home instead of using one of their own cars.. parked up blocking his driveway and his parents needed to go work and that’s when he called my mate because he couldn’t start the car (he drove it longer than 15 mins so ghost went back into normal mode) he was literally begging my friend not to get the manager involved but my mate stood his ground.
Was weird how he noted his number down before taking the car
They probably have their own login to the BMW system that the dealership uses, which they can access remotely. How did the tech know the customer’s phone number at 2300 at night when the dealership is presumably closed?
that’s messed up did he get anything out of them ?A friend of mine Ferrari ended up at the home of the general manager and his tracker went off. The car was in for service and routine warranty work.
He was not happy at all.
Can’t go over 30mph on service/valet modeSurprised he kept it under 30mph....
They look smart and tidyLate to the conversation but my answer to the exam question is: "Bollards" or drive something cheaper or less interesting.
Look around West London and you'll see bollards, or heavy duty gates, have popped up anywhere with a RR, "decent" Porsche, or pukka AMG.
Sorry, but it's organised crime now and it's way too easy to fence these near new vehicles whole or broken down for parts.

Would like to know tooThat's what I'm interested in getting, the pull up bollards. Any particular recommendation to brands to look into?
BFT. They do both electric and manual albeit on a gas strut so they raise themselves once unlocked. That's what I'm interested in getting, the pull up bollards. Any particular recommendation to brands to look into?
