Hi all I own a

C220 CDI AUTO 2001

Only got the vehicle yesterday drove it 100 miles home and was perfect, I took it out today and again perfect till out of the blue it would not change gear was revving high and speeding up but would not change

I got worried so I stopped checked for any malfunction messages but nothing

I also pressed the w/s button but it didn't even change on the interface

So I then put her in park turned off the engine left a min max and then restarted and she has been fine since????

Please tell me I not brought a lemon

Thanks in advance

No. The malfunctions is for driver information, workshop codes get stored discretely.

Ok thanks again

Shall try find out how much it is to get codes read

What is your location?

Often someone can recommend a Mercedes independent local to you instead of having to use the main dealer.

Thanks for comments I am completely new to Mercedes I know nothing about them

I am located in highbridge, Somerset

Thanks

Try giving the gear selector a good workout. If the switches inside get dodgy it causes gear selection problems.

Hi all as you may have read I have been having issues of auto box not changing up and have to switch engine off and back on to clear the issue

Twice in the last 3days there has been something worrying happen

I go to accelerate a tad harder to overtake or speed up quickly and the auto box drops down but drops to far as if it drops into neutral as it just looses all drive even though it's still in D position it just revs it nuts off and have no forward momentem at all until I brake to almost a stop and accelerate again she re engages drive

Only way I can explain is it drops out of drive into neutral even though it's still in the D position

Any ideas or still electro plate??????

Also been told by a lot of people may not be the plate it could just do with auto box drain and renew oil??????

Stumped as really have no money to fix after using every penny I had to buy her.

Thanks

Afraid the answer is back to Post#2.

You really need to get the fault codes read to tell you exactly what is going on.

Right update on codes

Had codes read an came,up with these

146- sporadically RPM N3 too high externally toothed disc carrier

P1664- electric heater fault

Also told me

Glow plug faults on 1,3 & 4

I need info on mainly the first error code

Any ideas???????
