Mercedes : 01/51 Mercedes S280 - 56k miles - Excellent Condit

Whats the thoughts on this one, the obvious downside is the lack of command, but I guess that is/will be refelceted in the fianl sale price.

Is the 280 really too underpowered given real world stop/start traffic?

I understand that the suspension is really the only major thing (other than perhaps an ECU) known to go wrong and cost big on these so is this a good buy?

Cheers

Come on gents, comments please!

As the suspension has recently been done that should not be a worry.
Looks like a nice car at a good price, although if that is the stated price there will probably be some movement in it....

The new suspension probably cost half the value of the car. Small engine would be fine if the cars just going to be smoking around town all day. Decent spec too.

Looks like he knows his Mercs too, two others peeking into that picture.

No Comand or heated seats and of course rust problems common around that time. Does look clean though. Also parktronic on the rear only.

56k miles genuine? And needed new suspension?
The car is 8 yrs old now - put a few miles on it and it will be into banger territory and worth a lot less than £7k.

I think you should hold out and get one with sat nav, also 280 is way to slow. My 320 is a little under powered but just about OK.
Try Jay he has three www.mercland.com

How much longer is the long wheel base model? Is there any difference in demand/ resale?

I would much rather buy SilverSilvers S350 for £10995

Me too, but at £4000 more its out of my intended price range by some margin im afraid.
