2004 CLK with Valeo rad

Hi all,
Newbie here. I have just bought a lovely CLK 270CDI. It has teh valeo rad and is registered in march 2004.
Car has covered 71000 miles with full MB history.

Now, after reading forums I am a little concerned as to whether my rad will fail and cause transmission fluid to be contaminated. I have spoken to MB customer services but not much help.

I have seen that some owners have re-routed the auto transmission fluid so that it cools through a new seperate rad. Or alternatively replace valeo rad with a new one.

has anyone any advice on which is best route to take. Or should i just take out a warranty and keep fingers crossed?

How do you know you have a valeo and that it hasnt been changed?

No warranty will cover it as it is a known failure point..

The best action in my opinion is to get a replacement radiator from the likes of Euro Car Parts...
A Nissens or Behr one will come in under £300 plus fitting..

it is a valeo. i can see the sticker n the top.
