Hello everyone

I'm moments away from purchasing a 2005 CLK 320 CDi Avantgarde Tip Auto.
i have to drive 60 motorway miles a day

I originally wanted a CLK 270 cdi of the same year, but currently there isn't one available which ticks all the right boxes for me at the moment.
There is however a CLK 320 cdi as mentioned above, so does anyone actually own one of these and can tell me what its mpg is like please?

Many thanks i will post pics/updates of what i end up getting :thumb:

I had the same engine in a W211 E320 CDI Sport and regularly achieved 40+mpg on a run, sometimes hitting 50mpg.

The V6 CDI lump is very good.

woah thats sounds awesome thanks, i guess that 7th gear helps keep the revs down on the motorway then?

Yes, the older 5 speed box is very well thought of, but once you've driven the V6/7G combo it makes it feel quite outdated.

I don't have the CLK. However I have a 2003 W211 E320 CDi. I regularly get 45+ mpg up and down the M1, this includes sitting in traffic jams for what seems like hours every time.

thanks guys you've helped make my mind up I'm definitely going for the 320 over the 270 now :thumb:

another quick thing does anyone know what roughly the revs are then the cars driving around 90mph? ( on a private road obviously :D )

I can get 60+ with the Cruise control on at 65/70mph

6 speed manual 270cdi

But I want the 320cdi/7G sport facelift next.

the 3.0 v6 will be less economical than the 270, but is a peach of an engine. In a C320 I used to average 40-45mpg. It's also a very smooth engine.

Mine is poor in slow traffic (24.5 MPG) but so so smooth its worth the extra expense. :thumb:
