2007 CL63 AMG With 1412 Miles Damaged !

Given the damage no airbags look to have gone off...

Imagine choosing that car then waiting and after only 1400 miles that happends.

Whats pedestrian saftey option thats listed?

Surely the car is not worth that much, as its THAT badly damaged?

Even the price they have quoted for repairs, why wouldn't they just get it repaired themself? And surely it would cost far much more to get repaired.

If it cost me near enough to 600pound to get my window wiper/mechanism repaired....then the amount of labour needing to go into that is astronomical. 9000 is too little for such a big job

£9500 to fix at Mercedes, Never! Also they state "FORGET ABOUT THE DEPRECIATION.DRIVE IT FOR 2 YEARS AND SELL FOR YOUR PURCHASE PRICE!!!!" How much do you think it will be worth after Two years? I will deprecate more than I earn a year.

Note they don't actually show a picture of the major damage to the n/s, only one showing the n/s rear wheel ripped off and the qtr panel blitzed....

£9.5K for all the parts from mb seems optimistic.

Rear wing £1347
Headlights £1123 (EACH!)
Door £905
Wing £334
Bonnet £934

Etc...

Its probably a test drive gone wrong at a dealer - and because it was THAT cheap to repair - they decide to disposel it off....

£9500 for parts from Merc + £5000 for joe bloggs body shop... whose he kidding!!

A set of wheels and tyres from would be £3000 - 4000, let alone 2007/8 parts...

So all in all you would be looking at about £80k for a raped monster... I'll pass, wait a year and pick up a genuine one for £60k or even less.

Have to agree that the price is way over the top, and that damage is extensive

I surpose there is no reason why an accident should not happen on the first day of ownership as any other

It must have been involved on some sort of motorway crash and the car must have spinned, hitting a few objects.

Anyway, I just realise that...."forget about the depreciation, drive it for 2 years and sell for your purchase price"

Who is this guy kidding?

The car is obviously a Cat A/B and should be classed as a near-enough write off.

The price of repairing the car + the value purchased will be near enough original list price. Then you have to include depreciation as well as having a listed damaged car that will appear on any HPI check.

I notice the AMG boot badge has gone walkies! Hardly an issue in the scheme of things mind... ;)

When you hit a pedestrian, the front caves in completely (as per picture on eBay) thus absorbing all the energy and protecting the pedestrian. This car has the extra 'overpriced' version - where some of the energy is transferred to the rear of the vehicle causing that to fold in also.

Without that option, the car would have been undamaged.

Surely all that damage was not caused by a pedestrian?

Looks like it was hit in traffic, perhaps went into the car in front & then someone went into the back of it? at slowish speeds?

I sent the seller a question, wondering if i was able to pay for it in £1 coins and drive it away once purchased. The response:

the car obviously does not drive in it's current condition. If you wanted to buy the car and have us do the work that would be fine. We would charge you £5000 to do the work and you would have to get the parts.
The part quotations we have, these may fluctuate +/- approx 10-20%.
You would have to send an assesor to get you exact prices or we can do this for you/
I dont know exactly what you mean by your question , if you would like to ring me to discuss , my number is 07966653***. I need a call today because a buyer has already accepted a price of £55000 and is looking to pay later this evening after which the car will be removed from ebay.

Someone has fallen for it then, or is he/she just trying to call my bluff?
