2011 c class heater/air con fan fault

Hi everyone new to the site so just bare with me, I have an intermittent fault on my heater/air con fan sometimes it works sometimes not, just been to my local indie & he said it needs a new fan motor but surely it wouldn't work at all if it was the motor I was thinking more the resistor, could anyone help thanks.

Hi All, I'm a newbie too July 2019, am I missing something or has this post not had 1 reply ?, I have same problem on my s320l 2007, the interior fan began only working when it wanted, and now it comes on/off all the time, I have no control it goes slow then fast etc. I thought there would have been many with this problem lol. Any help /advice please.

I had similar on my S212 but the blower stopped working completely. The fan motor had seized which in turn blew the speed regulator. You could try replacing the regulator first.
