D18's and I compared notes. My 7g works similarly to his, but is a tad rougher. Interesting to go in a 280cdi, a little quietier and not much in it performance wise.

Driving back, snapped this. Lovely run up the coastal way

Just a quick thanks to Lawrence for what turned out to be a great weekend. The venue was first class, as was the food. My wife and I stayed the night, had a great breakfast, and then enjoyed the West coast for a few hours. This will not be our last visit to the Castle inn. Well worth the couple of hours drive.

Glad you enjoyed it Woody, I think everyone was just happy to be out and about again with a hint of Spring in the air.

Well worth the couple of hours drive

Only with your V12 - it takes the rest of us a bit longer....:thumb:

Thank you Lawrence for the excellent location and nailing it all together for us.

Great to see everyone again and put faces to names of people we have not met before.
Excellent hospitality and food. Scotland comes up trumps time and time again.

Sorry we had to dash off at the end of the meal - We had another meal to get to in Kirkcaldy. The Steadings this time. Good food again but not up to the Castle Inn's standards - But different venue, menu and pricing, no complaints again.

An overnight stop at our mates house in Kirkcaldy and a slow drift back down to Lancashire today.

Our old bus did us well, 40ish MPG (never seen it that high before but my ankle was set to "crusie" at 55ish MPH) on the way up. 35MPG on the way back down Cruise control set a little higher. Obviously the weight of two meals took its tole on the MPG figures on the way home.

Thanks for the pictures too.

See you all again soon and thank you.

John and Liz.

Good stuff John, glad you and Liz were able to make it to the GTG and also to meet up with your friends in Kirkcaldy. Good job you didn't tell *** there was another meal going, or he'd have followed you!

I'll see you again at Ian's 'Yorkshire Yomp' in May, if not before.

Glad you all had a great time and good news is I finished the Audi this morning running perfect again and Engine internals absolutely clean as a whistle so well pleased :thumb:

After stopping at the view point in Aberlady, I was soooooo tempted to drive back and have dinner:o

Thanks to Lawrence - D18 for organising what was my 1st GTG, and what a great venue at The Castle, I have eaten here with the rest of the cheffy family a few times, and it has never dissapointed.
I only live a few miles away in Musselburgh - only half an hours drive, so, a very handy meet for me !

Glad to see/meet everyone else, and that some had travelled a fair distance - especially trapperjohn and wife Liz who had travelled from Lancashire then onto the other side of the Forth afterwards.

Some nice looking cars too, especially woodythewise - John's, gorgeous CL600, just luv these cars.
Not forgetting Del320's lovely E320, who's engine bay is as clean as mine ! (didnt want to compare - not on my 1st GTG anyway !!)

I did pass Del on the way down to Dirleton - much to his dismay :dk: but not as mush dismay as MB of Edinburgh had caused when he puschased his plastic triangular seat belt thingy's at 30 - odd quid a pop!!

Sorry to hear about ***'s troubled "shed" I hope all is going to be ok from now, maybe this is the reason (or one of the reasons) why he eats so mush ! maybe its comfort food, this seemed to be something that was a common talking point - *** Steve's food consmption is greater than Woodythewise's CL600 V12 has for fuel ! :D

Running out of memory now ! - thats name memory - for everyone I met on Saturday,Ltd and mrs Ltd, Druk and mrs Druk, Fuzzer. I'm sure to have missed some - sorry for those I havent mentioned, but once again it was a great day, great peeps, and ofcourse great food.

I will be at the next one, and I will def be on one of the tours- not sure if I can make the Yorkshire one (would love to tho) but most def be on ***'s Scottish one.

Thank you Lawrence for the excellent lunch. Was a very enjoyable afternoon.

The poached pears were just the icing on the cake!

Good to see everybody , see you all next time :)

It's been a while since we all got together for some food and a natter.
