Here goes with my 1st post...

Having just acquired a superb S212 I am about to embark on fitting a tow bar, however I am struggling at the first step for the 7-pin electrics which says 'disconnect the battery'.
The car has the Eco Stop/Start which means it has 2 batteries. Can I get away with just disconnecting the main battery or do I have to disconnect the -ve terminal on them both and, if so, in what order?
Please go gentle on me.

Welcome

Does the handbook not detail battery disconnection / connection procedures?

Thanks for the welcome.
The handbook suggests that a 'qualified technical workshop' should do the work, but does say disconnect -ve before +ve terminals but makes no mention of the second battery in the load area.
The tow bar wiring is specific to the manufacturer and involves the connection of 2 multi connectors to the SAM in the load area but I want to make sure the canbus network is dead and I have no idea what circuits each battery controls and what problems I may encounter when I reconnect the power.
Anybody done this already to a similar E350?
