2016 Mercedes C350e red battery icon malfunction

So, my car randomly shows the red battery icon and says „Malfunction”, but the car still drives. I don’t know what can be causing this, I’ve watched a video on YouTube and it might be either the 12V battery or the A/C compressor, but I just don’t know. Please give responses quickly, because I’m planning on doing a roadtrip soon and I’m worried that my car might break down

I'm having the same issue again, even though it disappeared for a few months. When I start the car, I get a red battery icon with an exclamation mark and it says "Malfunction". After driving around and turning off the car, the malfunction reappears and I get a "towing not permitted" message, as well as not being able to start the car on the first try. Can someone please help me with it?
