My SiL has informed us this morning that there are 'signs' being put up across fuel stations in SW London warning of shortages. Apparently the local Tesco is has nearly depleted its stock of both diesel and unleaded. Is this a localised occurrence or are you experiencing the same?

I had heard commentary on this in the last week or so, but I had not thought too much about it.

I filled up on Saturday and each pump had a nozzle out of action, there was both diesel and petrol available so I assume that some individual tanks were empty.

On Sunday there was no diesel available in Skegvegas. However there was plenty in surrounding stations.

They’re have been problems with fuel supply on the Island for a while now. Media driven fuel frenzy seems to have taken over again. God knows the simplicity of peoples minds these days.

I had to drive to 3 petrol stations last night to find diesel, and when i did there was only 1 diesel pump in use, im presuming people have been panic buying before prices go up even more?

No supply problems up north. Less panic buying - maybe they have realised that what goes up must come down again!

There are no supply problems or signs of panic buying round here in Leeds.
But ...
I expect that the MSM can soon be enlisted to fix that.

I filled up with unleaded today... no indication of shortages.

With pending fuel uncertainty and price rises, I've taken this and the nicer weather as the queue (come on @DRF20000 🤪) to start biking in nearly every day (although hard frost this morning was unexpected!)
Good skills 👍

Sounds like a great way for retailers to shift large amounts of fuel at high prices before prices drop due to falling costs on the wholesale markets :D :thumb:

Happily there seems to be no shortage or panic buying here in Hampshire.

I just filled up at a local Shell station, 8 pumps, only one occupied as I arrived, and 2 occupied as I left.

NJSS

No-one can afford it even if they wanted to panic buy!

More likely to be demand destruction due to high prices instead of a shortage
