Heres a brief how to for door card removal on a clk 209 to get to the speakers etc, mods feel free to move to the 'how to' forum, I can't post on there for some reason.

You'll need torx 15,20 and 30 drive bits ( if memory serves, get a 10 just in case) if anyone struggles to get these pm me and i'll sort you some.

Its up to you if you disconnect the battery to stop the airbag detonating accidentally and giving you a thick ear. ;)

1) remove chrome plate and plastic latch cover from door edge.

2) remove tweeter grille by pulling the top towards you, lay flat and lift up and away, don't pull the whole thing towards you, you'll snap the plastic hinge catches at the bottom. If a white plastic clip at the top comes off with the grille, remove it and push back into its housing in the door otherwise you won't get the grille back on.

3) prise out the SRS badge and the plastic cover plate at the bottom rear of the main pull handle to reveal 2 self tapping screws which you remove.

4) unclip the pop fixings at the sides and base of the panel by pulling towards you or preferably levering away at the fixing points, theres a special tool for this or you can knock one up out of ply if your that way inclined as this won't damage the paint.

5) the panel still feels tight at this point at the top as it is hook seated in a seal, gently start prising up from the lock end and it will pop out, you can rest it on the floor now, whilst you disconnect the electrical components and the door handle cable hook which lifts up out of its mechanism. I found it easier to pop the puddle light out completely and then disconnect the wiring from it.

That it, easy peasy, refit in reverse assuming you've not lost or trod on anything.

The following shows which bits to remove/undo, pop fixing positions aren't accurate and can be seen better on the next image by the holes.

This is how it all looks with the card off.

Hope this helps

Door panel Removal

Followed these instruction's and it worked a treat.
I was changing the speaker cover in the door on a W203 C class all exactly the same except that the screws are not Phillips but star drives.
P.s for info the speaker covers cost £17.00
:bannana:

great post...and pics. Are the speakers 6.5 inches
