212 test drive

Having made an appointment for yesterday morning to test drive the new e class ,I arrived to find the guy having arranged this and confirmed by e mail was off.
Worse was the fact they had no demonstrators as they were at a wedding Fayre.
So MB Milton St in Glasgow have turned out to be this weekends most unprofessional dealer in UK.

I await a humble apology tomorrow,but will not be rushing back.

I do wonder if these guys are really interested in selling cars.they had a w211 in the showroom and I suggested to the guy I was speaking to ,that if the W212 was not avaliable til Feb/march 2010 ,I may have to look at buying a W211 in Nov."This is a buying signal"- not even a flinch of interest.

My business will not be going here for car buying.

With seemingly so many stories of poor customer service from MB dealers, I think they should ask an owner of a quality restaurant to become an advisor on how to deal with customers.

Quality service should not be as difficult as MB make it out to be.

Perhaps Channel 4 (or someone) will run a series like the Hotel Instpector - it would be good to have some of these idiots "outed" on prime time TV.

Similar story with MB Glasgow Milton St last year. Having bought a C-Class 2yrs previously (this was mentioned which surely must give a little inkling to them that I'm probably not a timewaster), I booked a test drive in an E-Class which was being brought from another branch. Morning of test drive I called them to confirm, to be told 'sorry, we've sold it, sorry, we forgot to call and let you know, sorry, we'll locate another similar car', 2 weeks later and no call so I bought my E-Class from Merc Direct Manchester by telephone, made sure I let Glasgow know that when I took the E in for it's first service and they were rather embarrassed.

No, it's a Stratstone dealership, which I think all of the west of Scotland dealerships are (Glasgow north & south, Ayr, Hamilton) - makes it difficult to shop anywhere else for your MB!

its not just Milton St. I turned up for an aranged test drive last week at the giffnock branch, was the salesmans day off, no car no recrod of me in the system! Perhaps they already had made their quota for the month and didnt want me to buy anything.
