I guys I am after a set of 22's for my new ml280. Anything considered as long as it has a Mercedes badge on it somewhere. Also looking for some oem/oem style running boards. NOT the big ugly round things, Brabus or not Brabus they are sickening to even glance at.

Thanks

No longer needed, not that anyone actually bothered to reply to the post

Hardly anyone has a set of 22 inch wheels or side bars that would fit your very specialised request that they would want to sell ...

Did that cross your mind ? Or you just like to have a moan over nothing ?

Once you've been around for a bit you'll realise that was pretty poor etiquette.

Oooohhhh so people have been looking at the ad and ignoring it.......
Not really, I just had an a6 and when ever I saw ANYTHING I thought looked remotely interesting on Audi-sport.net I would chip in just like everyone else does, maybe a few thousand other people have brought running boards for there ml and could have pointed me in the right direction?

It's not really a specific ask to want 22" alloy wheels of any kind that have a 5/112 fitment either.

This aside I have gained some pretty good info from a few of the guys and posts on here and as soon as I have I have anything decent I find I will share it also. This place actually made me want another ml in the first place to be honest. Maybe I was moaning but in all honesty there would have been a fair few people that have seen that post and could have chucked in there tuppence worth but couldn't be ****d.

To be honest, I would say that less than 0.5% of users on this forum would have any interest whatsoever in a set of 22s... There dont seem to be many ML owners on here either really so that is probably why you didn't get a reply.

I have found the people on this forum to have an enormous wealth of information they are willing to share for when I have had any problems with my car.

Post a pic up when you put the wheels and side bars on :thumb:

What's the point of replying to a wanted ad if you haven't got what the OP wants ?

You can see how many views the thread has had by looking next to it , 251 at last count.

People tend to buy OEM stuff , with the exception of carbon bits and bobs , there's no real source of OEM stuff other than the dealers. Presume you've checked ebay , gum tree etc ?

Lee has got a set of 22's for an ML for sale at the moment ( they are in the classifieds ) , not cheap though , but very nice. Link below.

Sickening? Brabus offer the nicest and most useful running boards for ML, full stop. Had them on mine, alongside the 22" Brabus wheels and other goodies from the catalogue.

Mercedes never made 22" wheels for ML (or anything else for that matter in this size), so there won't be 'a Mercedes badge on them somewhere'. Try replicas.

Yes I got that impression about the sizes, I have received the replicas already, just waiting for the tyres, have a very handy friend as the area manager of a popular tyre fitting company ;) il fit the running boards this weekend.

The Brabus runners are a marmite sort of thing, there is a fully kitted out gl420 by me in black and it looks mental BUT it was about 20times the value of mine and has 24's.

As for the 22" wheel thing, there is a post on here of a guy with an ml63 who replaced them with the replica's I have just brought as the 21's just don't fit the arch properly, the 19-20 look OK and 21's just look odd in my/his opinion. He seemed to think there wasn't a noticeable difference to drive. Il have the originals incase it drives horrendously. I imagine it probably will as it drives perfect with the 19" sport wheels but I'm a flashy tw#t with limited funds.......pretty much everything I HATE in other people to be honest.

I saw his wheels and they look pretty good, if mine turn out to be utter b#lloks, I may give him a shout, there fairly reasonably priced in all honesty.

Does anyone know of a decent set of ionised bolts to use with them? My originals are all rusty.

Thanks

Howard, I cannot send pm's yet, do you know where he got the ml63 bumper from? I presume it is a factory fit thing, I've had a hunt around for one and not really having much joy :(

ML63 would have Airmatic suspension standard which softens the ride somewhat. Although my 420 had Airmatic too, 22s were pretty harsh compared to the 19s that came standard with the car. If yours has steel springs, you might rethink your decision or not, depending how fussy you are.

One thing to note, 22s will add significantly more weight so acceleration, handling and braking might suffer. I'd invest in a quality diesel box and or remap as 280 might struggle to roll off the line with them twony twos on. J/k! ;)

That car came fitted with the AMG body kit from factory.

Aaaaahhhh, I didn't think of that at all...... Yea it's not airmatic. I have a good guy that has economy mapped all my last cars really well..... They are called economy maps but just make the car feel like it's got an extra turbo tbh, he did my x5 and a6, the economy went up dramatically in the a6 avant but the x5 was bang on the same, I don't think it really works with 4x4. Definitely makes a pleasurable drive though over standard.

I am pretty apprehensive about the way it will feel but trial and error and all that. With tyres they where reasonable enough that il return the money quite easily if they are ****e

Nice one, I wasn't sure if they did that from new, we where looking at the a-class a few months ago but they would by no means put the AMG wheels or kit on the sport model. They sort of laughed when I asked
