I can see in your picture where yours were rubbing.
Many of the 124's with 225's I've seen rub ever so slightly in the exact same spot.

W124 AMG cars came with 225/45/17's from the f a c t o r y ...... , anyone that tells you that if you go bigger than 215/45/17 it will rub is dead wrong.
