230K Engine - How good is the economy of one...

These figures work if you run the tank to completely empty every time, which I doubt.

If you assume two gallons left when it's looking like you need to fill up then 320/11.3=28.3 mpg.

RH

Yep you're right. I was knew one of my assumptions must've been wrong...

I fill up to the neck everyday and my consumption works out at 28mpg. My journey takes 85mins going and sometimes 110mins coming home at rush hour. (you do the maths for speed!).

Not too quick at all, an average of 59mph so right in the sweet spot.

M25 rush hour. Helloooooooo
The journey times include the travel to and from the Motorway which is 32 mile of the 192. Same mpg for the 82 mile dash out of Southampton town (via the M271 nightmare!) centre to the godstone turn off in 63mins :p

Now I'm beginning to sound like an anorak!

One point to note though. I can squeeze almost a gallon more in the tank if I turn the pump handle upside down whilst filling. Not sure if this typical of all 202's and I know it doesn't make a difference to the calcs.
You can't get any more in it but you will trip the cutoff later if you reposition the pump. I tend to fill up to the point where I can see it in the neck before I'm done, but like you I have to fill up frequently so make the most of it when I'm there to potentially get another day between fill-ups.
