230K Engine shudder when turning steering.

When stationary, with Drive engaged (usually at traffic lights), the revs seem to blip downward briefly (engine almost stalling but recovers) when I turn the steering wheel more than half lock. I get the same also when in reverse and turning the wheel. Any idea what it could be ? Bad alternator maybe ?
