I've never had a car long enough to have to replace tyres, but I must say that the set that was on the car must have had something horribly wrong with them (Avon ZZR) and a new set of MO Conti PremiumContact 2s have pretty much fixed everything that felt wrong with the c:bannana:ar. The pull to the left is all but gone, and it's quieter and steers better.

Being a biker, I'm very aware of how important tyres are, and how a new set makes a bike feel amazing, but wasn't quite aware that they could have quite the same effect on a car.

I booked my car in to get two new rear tyres fitted a couple of months ago, and was surprised to find that the dealership had fitted Continental Sport Contact 3s instead of the Pirelli P Zeros it was already wearing, as they normally just do like-for-like.

As a result I decided to get the front ones changed as well the following week (I prefer them to be the same all round), and have been pleasantly surprised by the improved feel of the car. Not sure how much is down to the change of brand and how much is just the fact that it's new rubber.

I put four new Michelin 3 Sports tyres on my S210 a few months ago and they are incredibly good in the wet and dry. The car did a sudden stop at over 70mph in the wet and never even felt like it would skid.

Years ago when I bought the car it had two "Sava" and two "Fulrun" tyres. A recipe for disaster. Even under moderate throttling in the wet the rear wheels would spin.
