Would they be a period fit in 79?

No, these as they are, were not available in 79 as a split rim....

Someone has (with great skill), got an original MB wheel (that was available on the w116), cut the centre out and drilled holes in it , to make a split rim alloy.... Remarkable workmanship...

But imo, they look better in these pics, when a tyre is not mounted on them and they are not mounted a car....

I would stick with some Penta's

Have you seen another set going I think they`re made and can`t remember if is the same chap but Jay bought a set of them from Poland for around the same price

NO! Appear to be custom made, hence the price (i guess) . And I'm sure there are takers for such alloys. Question is do you stick to originality or mods? A different discussion altogether!

Few parcels have arrived
Managed to get quite a lot from MB dealer but still some bits are missing.

At the moment I am on the hunt for:
New headlights and rear lights
Aluminium around windows -as I have got only bottom rear bit.
Front doors in good condition.
Thans in advance for any help.

Surely the window surround could be re-anodised as good as new?

In the back of my mind I thought someone one the forum found someone offering this service. It isnt a particularly difficult task, you can even buy diy anodising kits.

Shell back from paint shop, Engine ancilliaries added and refitted to engine bay.

Started on first turn of the key. :bannana:

The fun now begins on reassembly before sending the car to the trimmers for a complete interior refit.
