450 SLC Engine

Hi all,

The Merc that I have recently purchased hadn't been turned over for at least four years. Last week we put a new battery on and put a cap full of fuel directly in to the top of the engine... Turned the key and it fired up!

Engine has done 107,000 miles but have just bought another SLC that I'll be using for parts... That's got 63,000 on it.

Is there anyone in Northamptonshire who is an SLC or just a Merc expert? There's a bit of work to do so any assistance appreciated!
