Is there an online parts catalogue for the 500E?

I can find the parts I need on the Russian website but obviously not the rough costs.

When I put quite a few parts into the Merc website it just redirects me to a page to pick the model, which my car isn't included in.

Dave!

The russisan website still carries old part numbers - though in the case of the 500E I would suggest it's down to the fact they're not stock items. You can call Inchcape who run the parts website.

Worked oK for me. What part# are you after?

This was the rebuild kit for the rear suspension bottom arm?

Dave!

Thanks for the responses guys.

Sadly I don't have the vin on me and along with the car being in storage i'm also out of the country till the start of Feb.

I'll see if one of my folks can email me a copy of my MOT though as that has it on.

Dave!

Hi Dave,

Just for slight reference, I've been recently looking into rebuild kits for my front lower suspension arms (on a 201, not 124 - but similar I imagine :)) - the bushes/bolts and new balljoints cost around 50% of the cost of a brand new arm with all these parts already fitted/pressed in.

Just an early heads up, it might be less hassle to buy new arms complete ready to fit?

Shouldn't it be.?

A1243506706 REPAIR KIT
Price: £10.64

Further to Will's post.

Part A2023500206 , SPRING CONTROL
Price: £53.82

Should be able to price that up on wdb1240361b ?

Are the last 6 digits really neccesary, since there was no change on these cars rear suspension through the model history ?

cheers

As far as I can see there are no differences between the 500 rear suspension and other W124 saloons. I've cross checked with the 300E and all are the same.

My understanding is that the track is wider, how this is achieved though I don't know, possibly just in the hubs then?

Dave!

Is the rear track wider as well as the front.? I thought it was just the front from using the SL subframe.
Wheel offset could be used to alter the track.

Some components are shared, probably the ones that Dave is in need of.... but there are differences....wider track, larger diferential (i think the subframe would change for this ?), self-levelling set-up (and hence different coil spring stiffness).

The suspension is essentially the same as an r129, which of course has many shared items with the w124.

No 24 is A1243506706 @ £11.04
No 26 is A2023520165 @ £7.76
No 8 is A2213520027 @ £31.97

That's not too bad really.

I may see how much the storage place near me charge for labour and see how much the difference would be when I take into account the extra time needed for fitting just the bushes.

Much appreciated

Dieselman, i'm not 100% to be honest, the arches are flared more than standard but it could be just for the wider tyres and the offset is different than regular E classes, it's the same as the 129 I believe.

Dave!

All in the search for a slight knock.

Still the car has done 220,000km now and has had no suspension work on the linkages and arms.

Cheers chaps!

Dave!
