Right i get you now. That part is about £80 or so is that right? The part im chatting about was less than a fiver.
What symptoms did you have where did the leak manifest itself? The reason im asking is if its common then there is a fair chance i will encounter it at some stage and better to be prepared.

It was £120 on mine - there are five different types I think. You can disconnect the harness from the socket - if there's ATF in the socket then it's best to replace it!

I must have jinxed myself by talking about this connector, mine is now leaking ever so slightly and car has made a couple of clonky changes.

Question: Can this connector be changed without draining the fluid, i changed mine only 24k miles ago and was going to stretch it to 30-36k?
Is the connector simple to change?

The ATF you need is definatley 3353 from Mb at £63 for 7 ltrs (plus vat)

Not as far as I know - it is immersed in ATF internally.
