A class brake pad replacement

After some advice please. My wife's 57 plate A class has a message on the dash - replace pads..

A few questions;

Does the A class have sensors only in the front pads or rear aswell?

I am tempted to have a go at replacing the pads myself, can anyone advise if it is a simply enough job and anything I should be aware of?

I am going to get official Merc pads, I presume I need to replace the sensor at the same time?
