A nice clean C240 W202

Still more expensive than what I paid for mine 2 years ago :D :D :D

Very odd that it doest have the internal motion detection/anti towing button for a car of that year!?!

Looks loverly! If I was after a W202 I would go and have a look at that.

Figured it out, its a New Zealand import, that explains the lack motion alarm :) Car crime doesnt exist down under.

I have that feature on mine, and thats a '95...

Thats actually how I'd love my car to look when its all completed.

Yep, I have that in mine - can turn off the internal motion sensor too...

I agree, looks very nice, but I bet it's starting to rust somewhere though.......

There's always someone ready to put a damper on things :D

Sorry, just been washing mine and found a fresh lot of rust in the rear arches:mad:. Starting to get fed up with fighting what seems to be an impossible battle wiith corrosion on my W202.

Mercedes didn't think through the fact that the liner doesn't meet the lip of the wheel arch and so dirt settles there. I've had my wheel arches redone but it's coming back slowly. I migh consider getting new metal put on in a couple of years.

You havent seen my front arches, One of my neighbours asked me about them, she was asking if all Mercedes did that

Did the worst of it happen on 99 and post-99 cars. My car didn't start rusting until 2005, thats after 10 years......and even then they were small rust spots.

Mine has very small rusting on the bottom of one of the doors, and a tiny bit near one indicator, and thats a '95. Normally wouldhave expected much more for the age. The arches on mine are rust free surprisingly

(And this car was not looked after by the prev owners!)

Sorry, Didn't mean to hijack this thread:o

I think 99 on cars seem particularly bad. My car has now had £2k worth of remedial work on the front wings, door bottoms, rear arches and sills. The only place there is no evidence of corrosion returning is on the front wing that was replaced.

I think it is criminal that the car has rusted so badly, this is a one family owned car that has alway been looked after and garaged at night.

It is a shame because i really like the car and am beginning to feel I may as well run it into the ground as it is not worth ploughing more money into repairing the rust...

Rant over!!

Mine are equalling my Dads W210 so far :(

The car had its sides resprayed in its past so I wasnt able to claim from MB.

My 95 model had only 1 tiny bit, its all down to the use of Water based paints instead of Solvent ones.

That settles it, I'm keeping my '94 and will continue to mod it :bannana: :bannana:

My brother's car is a 2000 and the wheel arches were quite bad last year, but because my mum had the wings replaced from a garage that lost their MB dealership status, MB Chester wouldn't honour the claim.

I have a small bit around the boot lock and the front wings (plus a smattering of stone chips in odd places, like the roof). Luckily I caught the front wings early and rust is out of sight on the inside of the "roll" so I ground back, primed and painted with silver hammerite and a quick repair - keeping and eye on them now.
