a140 04 plate 1.4 petrol
Hi my A140 petrol 1.4litre 04 plate is in the process of having the clutch replaced.
It car is back together but the mechanic at the garage is having a weird issue
As soon as the car hits 3000 rpm on the road , it act as if there is a rev limiter in action.
When I drove to the garage at the weekend it easily revved to 3000plus due to clutch slip with no codes.
Now at idle there are no codes, but as soon as it reaches 3000 rpm on the road its throwing out codes of
P0355 L5 P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction and
P0340 B6-1 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction. The sensor was replaced in Dec 17
The circuits have been tested and putting out the correct voltage/ampage
When the engine was dropped the ecu wiring loom was disconnect, no other wiring was touched.

Any ideas thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Chris

Poor electrical connection or damaged wiring perhaps on the ECU loom caused by the disconnection.

Quite a surprising day yesterday, car now sorted, turns out when the car was moved into garage pre clutch change Monday morning, a mechanics noticed it wasn't revving over 3000rpm, but didn't mention it to anyone else DOOOOH!!!!! So fault was present prior to the work. The boss checked with a merc mechanic mate, Thursday morning after a night scratching his head at why the car would rev over 3000 and QED the cam shaft sensor was the main suspect . Once replaced, the cars back to normal. Whats really put the cat amongst the pigeons on wed night was that I had replaced that sensor Nov 17, so was not expected to have failed again.
So car now back on the road yeah

Thanks for the up date , Good result there for you :)
