A160 brake problem

Hi

I have a Mercedes A160 Model 2000 Petrol. The car's been stationary for a good few months. Recently when I tried to move it, it wouldn't budge. I got the jack and checked each wheel and it appears that the passenger side wheel moves freely until I apply the brake. Once the brake is applied, it won't release the wheel for a few hours.

I wanted to apply some WD40 somewhere but am not sure what's causing the brakes to not get released when the brake pedal is released.

Would really appreciate someones advice.

Regards

Id say the caliper has seized with it being stood. You will need to remove and strip it and replace the seals, after which the brakes will need bleeding, wd40 won't help. This is the front, the rear could be a sticking handbrake. You don't say which wheel or which brake system you mean.

Well in that case it will be a seized calliper. Either strip, clean and replace the seals in which case I'd recommend doing both sides or get one from a scrappy and just replace it.
