A45 AMG Project Weistec MSL Performance

Then we installed the boost Gauge with was connected to the Anti Surge Valve on a T connection.

Love the new stance Acid.

Must say I thought the tuning box would have given a little more, sure you will get the extra 90hp out of it easily enough!

Next is Stage 1 ECU Tune Only Tuning Box has been Removed

361 WHP ( 405 bhp )
391 WTQ ( 437 tq )

Good results, I have no doubt this will be eating V8s for breakfast by the time you have finished with it... ;)

Be Interesting to know how much these A45 weigh. Regarding power to weight ratio, versus some of the other V8's. Obviously there is a torque advantage with the V8's.

Acid

Does anyone make a hybrid turbo replacement for this engine yet?
How much boost does the engine require to make 400+ bhp?
The torque is very high for 4 pot so I imagine the boost is fairly high.
I'm still toying with the idea of an A45 but the tuning is still in it's early days, if you can get a reliable 500bhp and the drive train holds up it will help my decision lol

If they crack the 500bhp numbers with a reliable set up I imagine a fair few guys will be px'ing for one pretty sharpish ;)

I spoke with a guy at POD some time last year, he owns a tuned A45 and he walked me through some of the problems, not insurmountable but would need some thought and a company to spend on the development to overcome.
I would imagine Merc have over engineered the car with tuning in mind, just curious to know how much the drive train can cope with or would you have to dial out torque in key areas of the map compensate.
To be honest 500bhp with 4WD in a light compact car such as the 45 is more than enough for a street car of this size, it appears to be a car that handles and the chassis can be tuned to accommodate a power hike, would I have the 45 over something like a Evo10, yes I think I would.

Theory of parts is one thing, but really we need to get there and beyond the theory to see in practise what these things can actually take!!

Plus Acid drives it like he stole it so testing isn't a problem!

I think I've read of large important parts of engines failing at 450hp in the US.
