Well I have had the A45 for nearly a year and it is showing nearly 10k miles. Here is the report so far:
* Endless fun to drive, its a hoot.
* Best seats in the house
* A year on and still nobody seems to know what it is, until its too late
* Recording overall 30mpg. (This has improved in the last few thousand miles.)
* Did over 40mpg the other day and I was not hanging about.(evidence attached)
* Quiet in everyday use, speed limits have to be watched all the time.
* Ballistic on a damp track.
I have not regretted buying this car once, its superb. Only a new C63, or is it a C40, would maybe prise me away?
Its coming to its first service. It seems a little steep at a stealer.
Now about that little black box Acid?
(And before anyone comments about it not being a V8, I have those too.)

Good to read your experience. 5 months in with mine and no regrets. I've noticed too people don't know what it is. Many times I've had "how big is the engine" and when you say 2 litres they lose interest and go "oh" :). BTW I've had a C63 and overall I prefer the A45, the economy coupled with the size of the tank means you are on first name terms at the petrol station.

It's like the 32's, only a 3.2 V6 but can beat a 5.4L V8 -

My C32 use to get underestimated a lot.

My slk32 still does! Had it over 10 years and cannot bring myself to part with it.
I cannot believe I took a photo of my dash!!!

We'll all soon stop talking about downsizing engines as more and more cars like the A45 prove we are not dragstip junkies but instead expect a whole lot more from a car.

Personally, I think the C63s are overrated hence the focus on the engine alone, which is of course great....but there are newer and better on the way - it would be a sad old world without progress.

I love progress and have never seen the fascination with old cars. I will miss the passing of V8s sound but the A45 ticks so many more boxes and when you look at some of the latest hybrids coming through...... I know you didn't like your C63 which is a shame as I loved mine in every way except the economy which the A45 easily makes much better sense at.

What sort of mpg do you get from city driving in the A45? No matter what I get I won't miss 9mpg!

I drove from the Excel Centre to Wimbledon on Saturday. 14 miles in 1hr 30 mins and got 25mpg. The start stop does seem to make a difference in the big jams.

That's a great report Op plus no doubt a brilliant car too, 40+mpg, wow!

Sadly, for the likes of myself who buys used cars I just wouldn't take the risk with one when out of warranty, wouldn't feel too comfortable driving it as it should be driven at five years plus either.

Regardless, well ware. :thumb:

I want one
