Having initially expressed an interest an AA Technik remap back in April, I visited the AA Technik unit at Slough to have my 2006 C220 CDI remapped.

With the car in the workshop, I headed for the local pub for a pint (of coke).

Upon my return, the car had been modified with an extra 30bhp (150 stock to 180 modified) and 50nm of torque (350 stock to 400 modified).

I also took the opportunity to find out some more about AA Technik. Whilst Gee and the Team are not as well known on the MB scene, they have a solid customer / fan base with BMW owners.

A quick google of AA Technik / BMW will provide plenty of positive feedback about the company's BMW product set.

So what's the car like now?

Basically, it's like having a new car! I had considered selling the car, and buying an Alpina D3. That idea has now been shelved!

The car is now much smoother to drive, and the extra power is most apparent in the midrange when accelerating between 40 / 70 mph.

Coming out of a roundabout on a dual carriageway, and leaving the usual gaggle of company Passat and A4 drivers behind does bring a smile!

I have not had chance to do an accurate measure for mpg yet, but I will update the thread in due course.

From a reliability perspective, the map has been in place for several weeks, I can confirm that there have been no issues with car at all.

In summary, I am exceptionally happy with the upgrade and have no hesitations in recommending AA Technik.

Hi very interested in your thread, we also have a 2002 C220CDI nand am thinking of the remap at the next angel day, would like to hear more, re fuel etc. Many thanks

What was the price of the re-map

I'm keen to have this done too...any info would be great...I'm waiting on my new c220cdi estate to arrive.

Ahhh yeah Gee at AA techniK I remember he remaped my E320 CDi and messed up my injectors, yeah hes very good.... NOT!

then had to take it west-tuning for a proper remap.

he came on here and got banned!

Thats a very tame re map for a C220 Cdi most remaps run just over 190 bhp and 450 Nm torque on that engine.

Glad you are happy with it though :thumb:

To put things into perspective-

I'm very happy with the re-map,and a year later there are no issues at all.

Economy wise the car averages 40+ MPG on my daily 110 mile commute.

I don't need any more than the 180bhp / 400nm torque - it's enough for my purposes.

The cost of the re-map, as at last year, was £350

As to the interaction of other members with AAT, that's between the respective parties and their agendas. It has nothing to do with me, or this thread.

My experience of AAT was very positive.

There are plenty of providers out there who do this sort of work. The simple advice is to do your home work, contact other members directly for their experiences. If you are aware of a negative customer experience, speak to the Company as well (as I did).

I'm very fickle about who does work on the car, and I wouldn't go into any modification unprepared.

Maybe I don´t understand right, what you mean.
But there is no injectors-coding in MB flash, so it must be something else false, you had.

And in MB program, injection duration map, the biggest orig value is calculated in 100millis fuelling rate.
You don´t get 450nm torq with that....
~400nm is very good torque level for that tech - no cheating in needed in program.

Just so that you are aware... I have just spoken to AAT, and it seems they no longer offer remap on Mercedes - at least, not on my C-Class 200CDi. They are focussing their business on BMW, and they were leery about doing remaps where they have to remove the ECU (because apparently on the 2007+ C-Class it can't be accessed through a direct link on the car).

I did point out that their website still offered the 2007+ C-class, and the gentleman I spoke to said, yeah, he knew, but they had left it up for a bit. Didn't seem too concerned.

I was sorry to hear that, because your experience seems so positive, but that seems to be the situation at the moment. So it's back to square one. Anyone else have any really good remapping companies?

Thanks
