I found this informative website that provides a lot of interesting detail on most, if not all, current and previous Mercedes models (and most other car makes as well). I've attached a link to my particular car but it's quite easy to search for your own. It's the first website i'm aware of where you can get such detailed acceleration data and the ability to compare it with up to 4 additional cars.

2009 Mercedes-Benz E 320 CDI 7G-Tronic DPF performance analysis (up to February 2009 for Europe )

Not sure about these ....

It quotes 0-60 times for my car ( CLK430 ) of 5.4 secs .... The handbook says 6.3 ....

While i'd love it to be that quick , it just isn't.

It has the R172 SLK 250CDI data near enough correct

website 0-60 6.6s
book 0-60 6.7s

It has mid-range acceleration times too :)
40-70 5.4s
50-90 9.3s

That's because none of the performance data on this website is measured from driving actual vehicles- it's all simulated using a generic computer model- the results, though mostly apparently "realistic", shouldn't be used to try and settle arguments down the pub...

Slightly worrying to see the city cycle fuel consumption for my w140 listed as 8.7 mpg (Imperial). 0-60 was quite surprising at 6.1 seconds, but I don't intend to test it.
