Hi guys, I’ve found a 2020 GLC AMG line that I’m interested in buying but it appears that despite having MBUX, Apple CarPlay is not a standard feature as it’s only on the AMG line premium and premium plus models. Am I right in believing that merc can retrofit this option provided the car has MBUX? Has anyone done this and know roughly how much this costs?

Apologies if this has already been answered, I couldn’t get a clear answer online. Thanks for any help!

NTG6/MBUX, you have to pay for it on the Mercedes Me store, which then enables it remotely in the car. BUT your car must have the Comms Module installed for it to work - all cars were meant to have this, but MB have delivered some without (which will be retrofitted FOC by the dealer)

Hi, just wondered if you went ahead with this and whether you thought it was worth it?

Apple car play is definitely worth having, is it worth the monetary outlay, for me it would be.

It would only be useful for me for Google maps which I think is better value for money than paying the MB annual navigation fee.

Thing is, I can just use my phone and a cradle and I don’t drive to unfamiliar places all that often.

£300 feels a bit steep. £150 and I’d be all over it.

I agree with the MB navigation not being all that, google maps or Waze are much better.

Some don’t like cradles and cables all over the place, me being one of them, so apple car play, which was an option included by the previous owner of my current car, is very useful.

Agree with £300 being a bit steep, I would also have to have a serious think if I had to pay, especially like you I don’t venture out too much to non familiar places, I would probably make do with the MB navigation, or phone app.
