Admiral insurnce

i changed from admiral due my mods but tbh 3 accidents maybe a driving course would help

Just spoken to Admiral today as we've just a bought a third car.

Was quoted c.£600 fully comp for my E350 CDi, Saab Convertible 2.8 V6 (Hirsch remap) and a Seat ibiza 1.2Tsi FR......just me and the missus on the policy both with lengthy no claims and a fairly low risk postcode.

I thought that was a good deal.

depends on excess and othervariables - but i am currently paying around £330 for wife and i for 2 car household, so as a figure 600 is expensive.
And that's 2 seperate policies - no multicar policy

My daughter is with Admiral - good prices for young drivers but not so great for older/more experience drivers. Also when I last checked my daughter's policy, Admiral only track NCB up to 5 years. So when daughter's insurance expires end of this month we will be switching insurance company to one that tracks up to a higher number of NCB.

My parked car was hit by a driver insured by Admiral. I got a very nice call the next day from Admiral customer services accepting full liability. I told them that I wanted my car repaired at the local MB dealership so that my rust warranty is preserved. I was told no problem Sir, I will fax the local dealership that we will approve the repairs.

I was offered a loan car which I declined since we have 5 cars and there are only four of us in the family. Despite this I repeatedly get calls from their hire car department offering me a loan car! Worse still one month later Admiral still haven't confirm their approval to my local dealership despite repeated calls from me. Each time I was met with some feeble excuse - the last being 'the approval was sent out at 7pm on Friday so it may have been lost by your dealership!'. What a load of rubbish.

Hi,

Sounds like you got a great deal there.

As you say it depends on each persons circumstances / variables so I guess it's very difficult to compare like for like.

For instance, I insure the Mercedes for Business use as well as Social and Commuting and do c.30,000 miles per year in it......I also have an SP50 still within the 5 yr limit so guess that puts up the premium a little.

I was happy with the quote as was paying nearly the same amount for 2 cars prior to buying the SEAT.

My daughter got a renewal notice from Admiral - with 5 years NCB earned at renewal, the new premium will be £650.xx. A new quote from LV.com came to £386.xx with half the access and 3000 more miles per annum.

I still think that Admiral is good for young drivers with little or no NCB, but no so great for those who has built up a good level of NCB.

Got my quote down from £75 a month to £42 a month, so can't complain. I like admiral, had a claim in the past and they were great.

I am paying £350 for 2 cars with Admiral at renewal after re-negotiating the original price. That is with business use.

They were determined that I would not find a cheaper deal, so I am happy with that.

We had a multicar policy with them - found it a nightmare to administer. They wouldn't talk to me about my own policy as it was originally taken out by my wife, then they took all of our renewal premium from our sons cc and put hi into overdraft. And as usual the renewal premiums were always inflated, I had to call and threaten to leave to get them to make an "exceptional" discount for us, although that is pretty much par for the course as far as any insurance ges.

Have 5 cars with admiral. Made one claim 6 years ago, no problem. You do have to challenge their price every year. This year started at 2.5k went down by 850 when said I would leave.

Exact thing I go through every year with Admiral and 4 cars but worth it they always beat the market in the end

How do they treat the NCD on 4 cars? I insured with them for the first time this year on a Multicar for two cars but they would not allow an NCD on a third car.

Each person builds their own NCD, so if you have 3 cars you have to have 3 lots of NCD to start with otherwise they apply the 2 lots of NCD and the third car starts from zero

I agree car insurance is a mine field you do have to shop around, about 10 years ago I had to make lots of trips to South Wales when they were doing the M4 update and that was crazy I picked up two speeding fines, all only a couple of miles over I think all the camera vans in wales were in a feeding frenzy,it was without doubt the most dangerous road I ever driven people were not looking at the road just trying to see the hidden cameras, anyway i needed to renew with Hastings Direct they went ballistic I had not informed them and doubled the quote I could not stop laughing because I had a quote that was lower than the original and so told them no thank you.

They mirrored my NCD and now they say I have second line of NCD because of the mismatch in their system. So suddenly I have 9years and 7 years. I'm not challenging it.
