I've fitted a Ring electric aerial into my '95 W124 estate, to replace the prevoius one, that was ripped off.
I'm not too experienced with electrics, so before I connect up I would just like someone to confirm what the three wires, red, black and white are, that go into the connector that fitted into the original aerial.
Thanks

Is this a good time to mention that replacement aerial masts typically cost around £18 from any M-B dealer and take about 2 mins to fit?

PS the 3 wires would be red & black for the pos & neg 12V power supply, and white to signal whether to raise or lower.

....relax...relax...just stay calm...
The nice people at the parts dept at Jacksons didn't mention that when I enquired. They just said £109 + VAT.

Many thanks for that and I'll let you know how it goes.

Many thanks for that. All works fine now.
BTW I went to the dealers and a replacement mast for my Bosch aeriel is not available.

Bizarre that you can't get a replacement mast ... they are seen as a 'consumable' item. But I'm glad you got it sorted in the end :)

Hi Dave,

124 series cars should be fitted with Hirschmann antennas ...

ECP or GSF do them for about £20 ( OEM ) and you can buy replacement masts too .... ( about £15 ) ...

Maybe it wasn't the original aerial unit?

Hirschmann on my R129 as well.

The guy in the MB dealers said some were made by Bosch and some Hirschmann. He showed me the Hirschmann replacement, it was almost identical to the Bosch.

I also went to GSF and was told they had "nothing like that" and to go to MB

What ? they didn't do aerials or replacement masts ?

Here is the page for the w124 aerial .... perhaps you should show it to them , part number is M89250 ...

Sorry to hear you've been stitched up by the stealers ...... :(
