Has anyone any experience of so called 'air con bombs' or any other aerosol air con cleaner/freshener. Do they work, can they damage the air con ducting etc. Just about to change the cabin filter so was wondering about this before I install the new one. Any comments appreciated....:dk:

I've used one just after changing the cabin filter.

You just put the AC on full belt (engine on), recirc enabled, and put the passenger seat right back, then pop the lid into spray mode, put it in the passenger foot well and leave it 10 minutes.

If I was to do it again, I'd do it whist the air filter is out though, as I feel like it all just hit the new filter and fragranced it rather than going through all the ducting, sterilising, etc.

I used Dakota Car Odor Bomb from Amazon and it worked fine. But cover the dash and front seats because it leaves a sticky mess...

Alternatively, remove the cabin filter and spray slowly into the cabin air intake with the AC on (not sure if this is possible on all models though).

Then, there is the natural way... drive around for a while with the windows down and the heather on full blast. This will dry out the ducts. Then make sure the AC button is on ON all year long.

Do you use your aircon all the time, summer and winter?

Used one after I bought this car last year, together with anti-bacterial foam spray and filter replacement.

Worked perfectly fine, and there was no residue, which was a nice surprise.

Someone (maybe even on here) recommended Silver Hook, so that's what I bought :thumb:

Tried a few, but best method I found is spraying Dettol anti-baterial spray into the air intake for me.

Of course, I'm guessing that the people who don't, assume AC is only there to cool the air in hot weather.
