I have the airbag warning light on my CLS350CDI, 2012 model. Icarsoft gives a code for open circuit driver squib stage 1. Looking at live data the resistance for that circuit varies as the wheel is turned and at full right lock the code is tripped.

Looking at EPC, the clock spring comes complete with all of the stalks and steering angle sensor (what a waste!) and the part number is A2189007301. I'm waiting on quotes back but second hand they are £120+

Looking on ebay and autodoc there are clock springs with part number A2129007702 for sale at a fairly reasonable £50ish. This number doesn't come up when searching EPC and it is listed as incompatible. These look remarkably similar to the front of my part, same number of pins to connect to air bag/steering wheel etc. I will message the sellers but does anyone have any experience of using them?

Thanks.

Doing some more digging, A2129007702 is compatible according to EPC with the W218 CLS63, with my year designation (code 802), memory pack (code 275) and 7 speed gearbox (code 427). But CLS had console mounted shifter not column. Awaiting a response from the supplier but I suspect it would be compatible. They do list W212 models with column shift, e.g. 2012 E350CDI.
