Does anybody know the steps for refurbishing alloys? (rucha 17")
i will first sandblast them and then continue with the primer. I dont know how many layers to use and if i need to use a self etch or epoxy or urethane before the paint.:dk:
Thank u guys!!!

Choose a primer that is recommended to match the paint you are using.

I would suggest at least two coats of primer allowed to dry and rubbed down between coats, if you have some minor imperfections that are still showing after sanding etc then use a high build primer first before the normal primer.

Just take your time and remember that preparation is the key to a good result, do not forget to apply several coats of clear lacquer after you have finished painting and when that is dry and hardened apply wax or other sealant.

Thank you DSM10000! I have prepared and painted them two months ago but the paint is peeling of. I think it is a primer matter. I just sanded them down to the bare aluminium and primed. There are no imperfections. They just need to be painted correctly. i used PPG paints and clear(nice and thick). They are very shiny bot peeling of!

info

Ermir i was lucky in the fact that the undercoat was not missing on my wheels. If it is that you strip them down to bear alloy , you will want an etching primer for alloy . The first set i did on my W123 i used hammerite smooth silver, and the same make clear coat. I think that it was a nicer silver than the one in the picture.. This is the end product to the post above.
