Alloys looking tatty

Dealer phoned - they have shiny new set of alloys awaiting fitting. :)

Just as well DC UK changed their policy on their warranty for alloy wheels! Before you would have ended up with a refurbished set by Pristine BUT now you will have a brand new set straight from the manufacturer...:bannana:

I was looking on a web site the other day and came across a 450SL with crome wheels.

I think it look really cool. Does anyone know where there is a company that can crome things such as wheels etc etc. I have enclosed the web page of the 450SL below.

Regards,

Ian.

alloys

I have got to admit mercedes alloys dont have the best of finish, but they last a preety long time and i just wash them with a bit of fairy licquid once a week or so and not had any problems and i have the adharz alloys. on my other car a lexus is200 sport the alloys on that are the worst i have ever had, they have the diamond cut finish and painted sides, therefore the paint is not very well sealed and just starts to corrode they just are road-phobic and corrode in a matter of months! a few months back i had them stripped and powder coated in a chome finish, the powder coat covers the entire wheels and not just the face, and to this day not a problem i just wash them and apply a alloy wheel wax and the dirt just rinses off, not had many problems with my other cars, but my dads 07 E55 AMG is howing signs of wear on the polished lip, but mercedes are giving him a set of the new 5 spoke AMG alloys, which are very nice if he pays for the tyres as a compramise, NOT BAD at all.

my elegence wheels are a bit tatty I am going to have a go at them myself
